Produced byKalanidhi Maran, the film is expected to be a multiple-record breaker: it is currently being made on the highest ever film budget in Indian cinema while it is also expected to make the largest film release ever.

After meticulous filming and production for over two years, the film is currently undergoing post-production work. It is expected to be released worldwide on September 3, 2010 along with its dubbed versions: Robot in Hindi and Robot in Telugu.

Israeli jets strike Gaza

Israel has launched air attacks against targets in the Gaza Strip, injuring eight Palestinians, medical sources have said.

Sami Zyara, a Palestinian journalist in the Gaza Strip, told Al Jazeera that at least two rockets launched on Friday targeted a police training centre run by Hamas.

The Israeli military had no immediate comment.

Earlier on Friday, Palestinian fighters launched a rocket into the city of Ashkelon on Israel's Mediterranean coast, causing some damage but no injuries.

There are also reports that israeli rockets have hit smuggling tunnels on the border with Egypt, without causing casualties.

"This attack came after rockets were fired at Ashkelon," Zyara said.

He said that injuries were less than they could have been, given the crowded area that was hit, because Palestinians expected that "Israel would retaliate" for the attack on Askkelon.

"None of the Palestinian groups declared responsibility for that attack," he said.

Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, said that "Israel takes the firing on Ashkelon very seriously".

Share Sam Bradford signs richest guaranteed deal in NFL history

No. 1 overall draft pick Sam Bradford agreed to a six-year, $78 million contract with the St. Louis Rams on Friday night, with $50 million in guaranteed money.

The Rams and the former Oklahoma quarterback concluded negotiations in time for the first full-squad workout set for Saturday. The guaranteed money is the highest ever in the NFL.

It is being reported that the deal can be worth as much as $86 million.

Pakistan Floods

The death toll in flooding in Pakistan rose to 870 on Saturday as rescue workers tried to reach tens of thousands of people stranded in the north-west of the country.

Rivers bloated by monsoon rains have submerged thousands of villages, and inundated millions of acres agricultural land.

Rescue workers have struggled to reach the affected areas because dozens of bridges have been washed away and roads blocked.

According to provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain, more than 800 deaths had been confirmed.




Flooding in the Pakistan-administered Kashmir region claimed 57 lives. Thirteen more people died in the central province of Punjab where large areas were flooded.

Hundreds of soldiers were deployed to assist in the area's worst flooding since 1982.

Soldiers have moved 14 250 people to safety, including 2 800 tourists stranded in the mountain resort of Kalam, the military said, adding that 17 military helicopters and an unspecified number of motorboats were being used in the operation.

In far flung areas, including the mountainous region of Malkand, those marooned were reportedly facing a severe food shortage. Fatigue and lack of water were causing diseases such as fever and diarrhoea.

Hussain appealed to the international community to provide immediate help to prevent "a major humanitarian disaster".

The United Nations said on Saturday that 1 million people were affected by flooding in Pakistan, while 26 000 were marooned in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The world body pledged support for the victims.

US Ambassador to Pakistan Ann Patterson meanwhile promised seven helicopters to assist in relief efforts.

Pakistan experiences an annual monsoon, which brings heavy rains to the whole subcontinent in July and early August.

Dozens of people were killed last week and tens of thousands displaced in floods in the south-western province of Baluchistan.

The national Meteorological Department has predicted 10 percent more rain this year than during a normal monsoon season.

Paris Rosen

Paris Rosen was injured while attempting a best trick at X games. He was reportedly attempting a 75-ft front flip. The trick was much anticipated. Rosen made the news but of an injury rather than an achievement. He is been in the game for a decade and was considered one of the favorites. Rosen is 29 and resides in Phoenix and according to a feature had experienced a few injuries as compared to other sportsmen in the game.

He fell during the attempt and couldn’t move for several minutes. A dead silence grabbed the huge crowd at Staples center. He was loaded to gurney and moved to an ambulance. An optimistic announcement about his condition was made at the center that Paris Rosen was awake and was able to talk. His mother was present on the occasion to cheer his son. She was spotted holding his helmet. Lucas Mirtl, his manager told media that he moved his toes. The X-ray report will reveal the damage done to his back bone.

Everyone loves to speculate on the costs of celebrity weddings. And in the case of Chelsea Clinton, a girl America has watched grow up and blossom into a beautiful young woman (those 'SNL' skits be damned), her upcoming wedding is the closest thing we get to a royal wedding of sorts.

So, of course, everyone is trying to price out her upstate New York nuptials to fiance Marc Mezvinsky going down this weekend. The New York Daily News, has the wedding costing between $3 and $5 million. ABC pegs the price at $2 million.

Say what? Political insiders and folks who know Chelsea and her parents call the extravagant cost estimates entirely absurd. Chelsea, for one, has never been a big spender, nor does she enjoy flaunting her parent's celebrity status. So, the hand-painted aisle that the News intimated she will walk down on her big day, probably not happening.
Putting it in perspective, the estimated price tag on then-presidential daughter Jenna Bush when she married at the president's Crawford, Texas, ranch was only around $100,000.

Of course, Jenna got that venue for free. ABC is pegging the venue cost alone for Chelsea's wedding as high as $200,000 for Astor Courts, a mansion designed for John Jacob Astor IV in 1902. The house is on the market for $12 million. It also happens to be owned by Clinton donors Kathleen Hammer and Arthur Seelbinder, who were unlikely to rake their good friends over the coals. Plus, all the publicity from this high profile wedding will probably just drive up the sale price. Everybody wins.

Yes, the guest list for this weekend is big. It will probably shake down to around 400 of the Clintons' friends, family members as well as select celebrities and business associates of mom and dad, a list that includes various heads of state and titans of industry.

Because there are so many high-profile guests, the Clintons will certainly need to throw a tasteful affair, but they don't have to go over the top. With a budget of just under $1 million, the Clintons can spend $2,500 per guest. That gives them plenty of cash to play with for what is already being billed as the Wedding of the Century.

Chelsea's preferences aside, the entire Clinton clan is nothing if not media-savvy. Dad is the head of one of the largest charitable organizations on the planet, The Clinton Global Initiative, and mom is Barack Obama's ambassador to the world.

"How would it look if Hillary Clinton were showing up in Pakistan to speak to women who earn less than a dollar a day, or if Bill went to his donors to ask for money to build wells in Africa after they just spent Liza Minelli-style money on their daughter's
wedding. These guys are way too smart for that," one political consultant, who has worked with the Clintons, told us.

The guessing game will finally come to an end in about 48 hours, when select wedding details will be released to the press, and when they are, we will see a picture of a tasteful and beautiful affair that still cost less than Tom and Katie's nups. Mark our words.

Maxine waters faces ethics charges

A House panel is preparing to accuse Rep. Maxine Waters of at least one ethics violation in her efforts to help a bank with ties to her husband, and the longtime Los Angeles Democrat plans to fight the charges in a House trial, according to a source familiar with the case.

The allegations were presented Friday to Waters, the source said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is confidential.

Waters, an outspoken legislator who has held elective office in Sacramento or Washington for more than three decades, could not be reached Friday night.

The findings on the investigation into Waters by the Office of Congressional Ethics are expected to be made public on Monday.

That office, an independent watchdog created by Congress, referred the matter to the House Ethics Committee. The committee turned the matter over to a panel of two Democratic and two Republican lawmakers who have been conducting their own probe for months.

Afghan War Diary, 2004-2010

25th July 2010 5:00 PM EST WikiLeaks has released a document set called the Afghan War Diary, an extraordinary compendium of over 91,000 reports covering the war in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2010.

The reports, while written by soldiers and intelligence officers, and mainly describing lethal military actions involving the United States military, also include intelligence information, reports of meetings with political figures, and related details.

The reports cover most units from the US Army with the exception of most US Special Forces' activities. The reports do not generally cover top secret operations or European and other ISAF Forces operations.

We have delayed the release of some 15,000 reports from the total archive as part of a harm minimization process demanded by our source. After further review, these reports will be released, with occasional redactions, and eventually in full, as the security situation in Afghanistan permits.

The data is provided in HTML (web), CSV (comma-separated values) and SQL (database) formats, and was rendered into KML (Keyhole Markup Language) mapping data that can be used with Google Earth. Please note that the checksums will change.

Law Enforcement sources tell us the Seaside Heights PD busted Snooki moments ago for disorderly conduct. The details of that conduct are unclear.

We're told Snooki -- real name Nicole Polizzi -- is currently in police custody.

Earlier in the day, Snooki was partying on the beach with a beer bong ... only she was filling it up with Coca Cola. We're told she was also seen at a local bar taking "body shots."

North Korea Attacks Hawaii

A new missile launch though not expected to reach U.S. territory would be a brazen slap in the face of the international community which punished North Korea with new U.N. sanctions for conducting a second nuclear test on May 25 in defiance of a U.N. ban.

Any launching of a missile towards Hawaii would increase tensions and require an instant decision by the Pentagon on whether to attempt an interception which may not work.A failure by the US to shoot down such a missile might embolden the North Koreans.

The U.S. moves come as strains intensify between the U.S. and North Korea. Earlier this year Pyongyang test-fired a missile that flew over Japan before crashing into the Pacific Ocean. On May 25 Pyongyang detonated a nuclear device at a test site near its border with China drawing rare rebukes from Moscow and Beijing.

Peepli Live is a forthcoming Bollywood film which is produced by Aamir Khan Productions. Directed and written by Anusha Rizvi in his first venture as director, the film stars Naya Theatre company member Manikpuri Omkar Das and Raghubir Yadav, Siddiqui Nawazuddin and Malaika Shenoy.
Peepli Live competes in the Sundance Film Festival, the first Bollywood film to accomplish this feat. However, for the launch of the Indian film has a "certificate of an adult." The film has been acquired by the German distribution company Rapid Eye Movies specialties for a special screening at the Berlin International Film Festival today.

On the eve of national elections in the Indian village of Peepli, two poor peasants, Natha and Budhia, face losing their land over an unpaid government loan. In desperation, seeking the help of a local politician apathetic, suggesting suicide to benefit from a government program that helps families of deceased farmers indebted. When a reporter hears Natha Budhia urge to "do what needs to be done" for the sake of their families, a media frenzy over whether or not Natha swells will crash.

Dabang, Salman Khan’s home-production produced by brother Arbaaz Khan, is likely to release during EID this year (September 10th).

For EID last year, Salman made a super-successful comeback with Wanted, which went on to smash box office records at single screens.

Directed by newcomer Abhinav Kashyap, Dabang an out-an-out action film also stars Sonakshi Sinha (on debut), Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Mahie Gill, Dimple Kapadia, Om Puri, Vinod Khanna, Anupam Kher and Mahesh Manjrekar. The music of the film has been composed by Sajid – Wajid.

Its stated for October 1,2010, starring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Raima Sen, Amita Pathak, and Paresh Rawal, the movie has been produced by 'Big Screen Entertainer'. The soundtrack of the movie has been composed by Pritam and the lyricist is Irshad Kamil. It is based on a completely new script on honour killings and is not a remake of any movies.

The cinematography has been done by Thiru Ranga and the production design has been handled by Sabu Cyril. Tyag Ranjan and R.P Yadav have arranged the action sequences of the movie.
